Have you ever wondered what exactly Coca Cola is?

After 10 minutes: The sugar contained in a glass of Cola can cause a devastating “strike” on the body. The cause being the phosphoric acid which inhibits the action of sugar.

After 20 minutes: A leap in insulin levels in bloodstream occurs.

After 40 minutes: Ingestion of caffeine is finally completed. The eye’s pupils are expanding. Blood pressure rises because the liver disposes more sugar into the bloodstream. The adenosine receptors become blocked thereby preventing drowsiness.

After 45 minutes: The body raises production of the dopamine hormone, which stimulates the brain pleasure center. Similar to the reaction Heroin creates.

After 1 hour: Phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in the gastrointestinal tract, which supercharges metabolism. The release of calcium through urine takes place.

After more than 1 hour: Diuretic effects of the drink enters in “the game”. The calcium, magnesium and zinc are removed out of the body, which are a part of our bones, as well as sodium. At this time we can become irritable or subdued. The whole quantity of water, contained in a coca cola, is removed through urination.
When having a cold bottle of Coke and enjoying its undeniable freshness are we aware of what chemical “cocktail” we are putting into our bodies? The active ingredient in Coca-Cola is orthophosphoric acid. Due to its high acidity, cisterns used for transporting the chemical have to be equipped with special reservoirs designed for highly corrosive materials.
Let’s have a look at “the anatomy” of one of the most advertised products of “Coca-Cola Co.” – Coca-Cola Light without caffeine. This drink contains Aqua Carbonated, E150D, E952, E951, E338, E330, Aromas, E211.

Aqua Carbonated – this is sparkling water. It stirs gastric secretion, increases the acidity of the gastric juice and provokes flatulency. Filtered tap water is what is primarily used.
E150D – this is food coloring obtained through the processing of sugar at specified temperatures, with or without addition of chemical reagents. In the case of coca-cola, ammonium sulfate is added.
E952 – Sodium Cyclamate is a sugar substitute. Cyclamate is a synthetic chemical, has a sweet taste, which is 200 times sweeter than sugar, and is used as an artificial sweetener. In 1969 it was banned by FDA, since it, as well as saccharin and aspartame, caused cancer in rats.
E950 – Acesulfame Potassium. 200 times sweeter than sugar, containing methyl-ether. It aggravates the operation of the cardiovascular system. Likewise, it contains asparaginic acid which can also cause an excitant effect on our nervous system and in time it can lead to addiction. Acesulfame is badly dissolved and is not recommended for use by children and pregnant women.
E951 – Aspartame. A sugar substitute for diabetics and is chemically unstable at elevated temperatures it breaks down into methanol and phenylalanine. Methanol is very dangerous as only 5-10ml can cause destruction of the optic nerve and irreversible blindness. In warm soft drinks, aspartame transforms into formaldehyde which is a very strong carcinogen. Symptoms of aspartame poisoning include: unconsciousness, headaches, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, weight gain, irritability, anxiety, memory loss, blurry vision, fainting, joint pains, depression, infertility, hearing loss and more. Aspartame can also provoke the following diseases: brain tumors, MS (Multiple Sclerosis), epilepsy, Graves’ disease, chronic fatigue, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, mental deficiency and tuberculosis. Later, this substance was initially illegal due to its dangers but was again made legal in a suspicious manner.
E338 – Orthophosphoric Acid. This can cause irritation of the skin and eyes. It is used for production of phosphoric acid salts of ammonia, sodium, calcium, aluminum and also in organic synthesis for the production of charcoal and film tapes. It is also used in the production of refractory materials, ceramics, glass, fertilizers, synthetic detergents, medicine, metalworking, as well as in the textile and oil industries. It is known that orthophosphoric acid interferes with the absorption of calcium and iron into the body which can cause weakening of bones and osteoporosis. Other side effects are thirst and skin rashes.
E330 – Citric Acid. It is widely used in pharmaceutical and food industries. Salts of citric acid (citrates) are used in the food industry as acids, preservatives, stabilizers, and in the medical fields – for preserving blood.
Aromas – unknown aromatic additives
E211 – Sodium Benzoate. It is used in production of some food products for anti-bacterial and anti-fungal purposes. It is often found in jams, fruit juices and fruit yogurts. It’s not recommended for use by asthmatics and people who are sensitive to aspirin. A study conducted by Peter Piper at the Sheffield University in Britain, found that this compound causes significant damage to DNA. According to Peter, sodium benzoate which is an active component in preservatives, doesn’t destroy DNA, but deactivates it. This can lead to cirrhosis and degenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease.
So, if you can’t imagine a life without coca-cola, take advantage of the following recommendations:
- Many distributors of coca-cola in U.S use this drink for cleaning their truck engines.
- Many police officers in U.S have bottles of coca-cola in their cars and when a car accident happens, they wash the blood off of the road with it.
- Coca-Cola is a great tool for removing rusty stains on chrome surfaces of cars. To remove corrosion from a car battery, pour Coke on it and the corrosion will disappear.
- To unscrew a rusty screw, dip a cloth in Coca-Cola and wrap around the screw for several minutes.
- To clean stains from clothes – pour Coca-Cola on the dirty clothing, add washing detergent and run the washing machine as usual. You will be surprised at the results.
- In India, some farmers use Coca-Cola instead of pesticides for pest extermination because it’s cheaper and the effect is very similar.
Coca-Cola is undeniably a very useful product. The key is to use it for purposes that do not include drinking! Here is a video about Coca-Cola!

Microsoft releases Windows 8.1 after June preview

MICROSOFT has released Windows 8.1 after tweaking the operating system designed for various devices that had confused some users. The update is free for those using Windows 8, released last year to help Microsoft navigate the transition from traditional personal computers to mobile devices such as tablets.
The revamped version brings back the "start" button, which disappeared last year and prompted protests from some PC users unaccustomed to the tiled menu adapted for touchscreens.
"Windows 8.1 demonstrates our commitment to continuously improving the product to create a richer customer experience," Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc wrote on the company blog.
"We are excited to have customers start updating their devices today and getting to experience new Windows devices this holiday season."
A public preview of Windows 8.1 was made available June 26. At the time, Microsoft said it had sold more than 100 million licenses for Windows 8 but that the update was planned after listening to customers.
Some analysts say Microsoft was forced to act because of slow adoption of Windows 8, which made some radical changes to the design of the desktop.
With Windows 8, Microsoft was trying to create a system that could be used on mobile touch screen devices while also serving the users of traditional PCs.
Microsoft launched Windows 8 last October, revamping its flagship system in an effort to make inroads in the fast-growing mobile segment. At the same time, it released its Surface tablet computer.
Starting Friday, Windows 8.1 will be delivered on new devices using the Microsoft operating system

Two Arunachal archers prevented from China trip over stapled visa row

Courtesy:India Today

Two young women archers from Arunachal Pradesh, who were issued stapled Chinese visas, were prevented at the IGI Airport from leaving for China on Thursday night to take part in the upcoming Youth World Archery Championship.

Immigration officials at the airport stopped Mihu Maselo and Yumi Sorang, who were the only two archers from Arunachal Pradesh in the 24-member squad, from boarding a China Southern Airlines flight to Guangzhou. scheduled to depart at 11:10 pm, according to airport sources.

The remaining 22 members of the squad for the championship at Wuxi were allowed to take the flight leaving the two young archers distraught. The two, who are just 14 years, have been lodged at the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) Guest House.

India objects to issuance of stapled visas for any of its nationals wanting to proceed to China. China's stapled visa policy has prevented residents from the border state of Aruanchal Pradesh in the northeast from travelling to that country making it a contentious issue in bilateral relations.

Archery Association of India President V.K. Malhotra said that the Chinese Airlines Authorities disallowed the two archers from boarding the flight, saying they will not be allowed to enter China as they don't have affixed visa on their passport.

"The Chinese embassy issued the stapled visa to the two Arunachal archers and they said there should not be any issue.

But when they were to board the flight, the Chinese airlines authorities said the two archers will not be allowed to enter China by the immigration department there," Malhotra said.

Confirming the incident, AAI assistant secretary Gunjan Abrol said: " It's a political issue as China considers the state 'disputed'. For no fault of theirs, the two poor archers were heartbroken.

These two Arunachali archers are very young, both 1999 born and they are very upset. We were surprised that the Chinese airlines authorities told us that the two archers cannot board the flight despite all their travel documents are in order."

"Since the stapled visa was issued by the Chinese Embassy, we thought there should not be any problem," Abrol added.

The practice of issuing stapled visas to residents of Arunachal Pradesh came to light in January 2011 when two weightlifters belonging to the state were prevented by immigration officials from boarding a flight from New Delhi to Beijing since they had such visas issued by the Chinese Embassy on their passports.

Meanwhile, Kiren Rijiju is all set to resign as the vice president of Archery Association of India once he comes back from Delhi from the border area.

He says that it is unacceptable for him to stay put as an office holder as two players were given stapled visas.

He says that it is humiliating that the girls couldn't participate.

In May this year before Li Keqiang's visit to India, Kiren Rijiju had written to the PM asking India to allow Arunachal residents to travel to China on stapled visas saying

1. It would downgrade the status of Arunachal Pradesh to a less confrontational.

2. Help the people of the state participate in important international events in China. Salman Khurshid, EAM, in response had virtually ruled this proposition out (though it is supported by some experts who believe stapled visa is better than no visa).

After 16 years, 98 families making their way from Tripura to Mizoram

Ninety-eight families are making their way across from Tripura to 15 villages in Mizoram, carrying little but hope to rebuild lives destroyed in the frenzy of a night. Report and photographs by ADAM HALLIDAY
It was a wintry night 16 years ago that they fled their villages, located in Mizoram's western districts of Mamit, Kolasib and Lunglei. Houses burnt down by angry Mizo groups, the Brus ran with what they could carry and didn't stop for three days, till they had put a state's boundary between them and their assaulters.
PHOTOS: After 16 years, 98 families return to Mizoram
On September 30, 98 of the 6,000 families — comprising 37,000 people — that fled that night began their way home. The week-long fifth phase of a repatriation process, that has only progressed in fits and starts and has been often disrupted by violence, eventually hopes to resettle more than 35,000 people.
Officials heaved a sigh of relief when of the 121 families expected to return in this phase, 98 registered. Last year, only seven out of 500 families did so. Till date, 1,035 Bru families have been resettled in 35 villages of Mizoram, but an estimated 5,000-odd remain in the camps.
***
The journey back began at the Mizoram Bru Displaced People's Forum (MBDPF) office at Naisingpara in north Tripura's Kanchanpur sub-division. As jeeps and trucks lined up to transport the refugees from the relief camps of Naisingpara and Asapara, people jostled around two desks to get themselves registered, under the watchful eyes of Assam Rifles and Tripura Police.
120 displaced families to return to Mizoram
The 15-odd vehicles were enough, for after 16 years living in small thatched houses, the refugees were returning with little to call own.
